Can you take CBD oil on a sugar cube?

Cannabidiol is sold in various forms in dedicated retail outlets. CBD oil is notably the most common and most practical form for consumption. This type of product lends itself to various uses. So, can you take CBD oil on a sugar cube?

What is CBD oil?

CBD, scientifically known as cannabidiol, is one of the main components of hemp. This cannabinoid concentrates most of the benefits of the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, it has no psychoactive effects. The virtues of cannabidiol are scientifically proven and recognized by the WHO. As a result, the product is legally authorized for production, sale, and consumption in several European countries, including France.

Cannabidiol is sold in various forms commercially. You can notably choose between CBD flowers, edibles, topical creams, e-liquids, and cosmetic products. CBD oil is undoubtedly the most common and practical product for consumption.

The characteristics of CBD oil

CBD oil is a product composed of a base of 100% natural vegetable oil to which the CBD molecule is added. Cannabidiol oil is marketed in different forms in dedicated stores. The most common form is notably CBD oil in a bottle with a graduated dropper cap. However, you can also find CBD oil in capsules.

Furthermore, certain varieties of CBD oil contain other components derived from hemp. Indeed, manufacturers offer a wide variety of CBD oils with varied compositions. You can find different types of CBD oil with highly varied compositions. Notably, we distinguish:

  • Full Spectrum CBD oils: containing the vegetable oil base and all hemp components, namely cannabinoids including CBD and THC at a legal content below 0,3%, terpenes, and flavonoids;
  • Broad Spectrum CBD oils: this type of product is composed of vegetable oil, cannabidiol, and all other hemp components except THC;
  • CBD isolate: made up of the vegetable oil base and pure cannabidiol, without any other component.

Furthermore, commercially sold CBD oils can display different cannabidiol concentrations, ranging from 5% to 40%, or even higher. The concentration refers to the amount of CBD in the product. 10% CBD oil is the most common commercially. For informational purposes, a 10 ml bottle of 10% cannabidiol contains 1000 mg of CBD. Therefore, one drop of product equals 5 mg of CBD.

What are the benefits of CBD oil?

CBD oil possesses various beneficial properties for health. The product notably has the following effects:

  • anti-inflammatory: CBD acts by limiting, or even preventing, the symptoms of inflammation;
  • antiseptic: cannabidiol eliminates microbes in the body;
  • antioxidant: CBD inhibits the action of free radicals and thus prevents cell aging;
  • pain-relieving: cannabidiol acts on the receptors of the endocannabinoid system to inhibit pain perception; ;
  • soothing and relaxing: CBD stimulates the production of serotonin, dopamine, and melatonin in the body. These hormones are responsible for well-being, relaxation, and falling asleep. Thus, cannabidiol helps combat stress, anxiety, and sleep disorders.

This list is not exhaustive. CBD also has cosmetic virtues. The product notably acts deeply to nourish and strengthen hair, nails, and skin.

The adverse effects of CBD oil

Cannabidiol oil can cause side effects or paradoxical effects. Among the most frequent undesirable consequences, we can notably mention:

  • drowsiness : which can pose a real danger for consumers who must attend to activities requiring maximum vigilance or great concentration, such as driving a vehicle, handling machinery or a dangerous work tool, etc. ;
  • migraines : of varying intensity ;
  • digestive disorders : manifesting as diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, etc. ;
  • severe fatigue : related to CBD's actions on the secretion of relaxation and sleep hormones.

These side effects generally occur following a CBD oil overdose. Taking a poor-quality CBD product or an interaction of cannabidiol oil with a medication can also be the cause.

It is therefore important to ensure proper use of the cannabidiol product and, notably, to strictly respect the prescribed dose. Also, make sure to buy your cannabidiol oils from a reliable, professional retailer.

Where to find quality CBD oil?

More and more stores are specializing in the sale of CBD oil and other legal CBD products in France. Take the time to research the quality of the products sold to ensure you enjoy all the health benefits of cannabidiol.

Make your purchases exclusively from a store specialized in premium quality CBD. Notably, opt for products formulated with cannabidiol obtained through the most qualitative extraction method, namely supercritical CO2 extraction. This method preserves all the natural qualities and therefore all the therapeutic properties of the cannabinoid.

In addition to the different varieties of CBD oil, the best CBD shops also sell other forms of cannabidiol, including : capsules, infusions, resins (hash, pollen), food products, cosmetics, creams, and many other CBD products.

How to use CBD oil?

Cannabidiol oil lends itself to different uses. You can use one of the following different methods of administration:

Sublingually

Sublingual administration is the primary use of CBD oil. This method of consuming cannabidiol offers rapid effects, within just 1 to 2 minutes after intake. You should notably draw up the necessary CBD oil drops to place under your tongue. Let the product act for 20 to 60 seconds before swallowing it with a large glass of water.

CBD oil can have a fairly strong odor and flavor. To mitigate the taste, you can place the drops on a sugar cube and let it melt under your tongue. That's how to take CBD oil on a sugar cube!

In cooking recipes

You can also pour CBD oil drops into your dishes. Be careful, however, not to expose the product to high temperatures, as this risks destroying the qualities of the cannabidiol.

Vaping

E-cigarette users can, furthermore, add a few drops of CBD oil to their e-liquid to enjoy the virtues of cannabidiol.

Topical use

Topical use is not the basic use of CBD oil. However, this method allows you to benefit from targeted effects. Indeed, you can spread the product on your skin, on the area to be treated, with a gentle massage. The molecule is absorbed and thus acts beneath the epidermis. This administration method is particularly suitable for cosmetic use and for treating inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema.

You can choose the method of using CBD based on your preferences and lifestyle habits. And yes! You can take cannabidiol oil on a sugar cube.

The dosage of CBD oil

No official indication provides the exact CBD oil dosage according to treatments and desired effects. The CBD oil dosage depends on the nature and intensity of the disorders to be treated. As an indication, the doctor or CBD specialist generally recommends 5 mg of CBD per day per 10 kg of body weight for mild symptoms. In cases of severe pain or very significant symptoms, the daily dose can be increased to 12,5 mg per 10 kg of body weight.

Be sure to carefully check the CBD concentration level in the oil. This significantly influences the product's dosage. Most CBD oils sold in specialized stores display a CBD content of 10%. For information, one drop of 10% oil contains 5 mg of CBD. Thus, one drop of 10% CBD oil per day is sufficient to treat mild symptoms.

Move up to 2,5 drops of 10% cannabidiol oil per day to relieve intense symptoms. If this dose of cannabidiol does not produce satisfactory results, it is advisable to seek advice from your primary care physician or a CBD expert to ensure you take the right amount based on your needs.
